Out and about

Since my last blog entry life has been hectic. First I went to the Doing the Stuff conference in Nottingham where Steve Sjrogren and Mike Turrigiano were guest speakers. Steve spoke on servant evangelism (great stuff - very inspiring) and also about '10 things I learnt the day i died'..... very moving and powerful story. Then we had the pleasure of Mike coming up to Hull Vineyard to speak on Sunday when he shared his testimony.

Following more or less straight on from that we had our 'MIC' meetings down at the Oast Houses and I have to say it was one fo the best ones yet. No undercurrents this time - just everyone reading off the same page and wanting to follow God's agenda rather than their own..... rather refreshing!

Janie & I have just celebrated our 12th anniversary and Jack his 8th birthday! Can't believe where time goes.....

Great Big God goes to school

Just done a Great Big God thing in a local infants school. 120 kids or so ranging in ages from 4 up to 7! Right blast. Nick Cook lead a couple of songs and Alex Cook played drums. Dr Tim Allan alongwith Amy did the actions -Tim is currently sporting a very dapper moustache with curly bits at each end - the kids weren't sure whether it was real or fake!

Otherwise life continues........

Fairly quiet on the Hull front

Still havn't really gotten used to this bloggin' thang... need to be more disciplined... apparently if one does something 21 times at a given time each time (!), then it becomes habit....

Anyone visiting the great old city of York, England shoudl pay a visit to the National Railway Museum... and especially if you have kids.... and preferably boys. The Royal trains are the best.... reminded me of the kind of opulance I experience whenever I travel!

Back to earth.... or rather the office

Getting back into the office after being on the road is both a salutary and satisfying experience. I love being at events where you see the power of God move, you meet great and interesting people and basically have a blast. But I also enjoy being in the office working with a great team of people and working on the next project, event or trip. But the best thing about being away is being re-united with my great family..... ahhh - what a blessing indeed they are. Nothing beats home-life in my opinion!

Just about to depart for Oxford where we'll be doing the 2nd Why We Worship event with Dan Wilt and Peter Fitch. If last weekend's event is anything to go by this will be another wonderful weekend! And if you're anywhere near Oxford, come along! Venue: St Andrews Church, Linton Rd, Oxford.
